I am beyond happy that winter is finally coming to an end. I’m honestly just not a fan of cold weather, and neither is my skin. Well, apparently, neither is little A’s.
For the past month or so, we’ve been battling some dry patches on his legs, and one on his arm that just wont go away. It could have to do with the fact that he keeps scratching them right as they start to heal, but it just seems that nothing is doing the trick.
I decided to just give plain old coconut oil a try, and it really seems to be helping. It’s moisturizing his skin like nothing else, and the key is being diligent with the applications.
Coincidentally, I’ve also been growing an aloe vera plant since Christmastime, and it’s really starting to get big and juicy. I’ve read so much about the endless benefits aloe has on the skin, so I kicked myself wondering why I hadn’t been giving this a try.
I tossed it all into a bowl with about half a cup of coconut oil.
Then whip it. Whip it real good.
I used an electric hand mixer, but if you’ve got the arm strength-more power to you!
Store this awesome concoction in the fridge where it will stay good for about a month. You shouldn’t have anymore left in a month though!
When you take it out of the fridge, the consistency is more balm-like than lotion, but it works just the same.
Until next time,
